ESG & Employee Engagement Case Study: Room & Board
Room & Board, a leading home furnishings retailer, wanted to deepen their sustainability commitments beyond urban wood reclamation and participation in industry associations. They sought Third Partners’ help to create a sophisticated corporate ESG program. Third Partners seamlessly integrated with their team and worked together with the CIO’s Sustainability Task Force. We began by conducting Room & Board’s first sustainability assessment, which included benchmarking, staff surveys and stakeholder interviews. Our team then developed an actionable roadmap for managing sustainability issues, including working groups for supplier risk engagement, renewables and other key operation areas. In the end, Third Partners delivered a robust cross-functional ESG governance strategy and Room & Board’s first carbon footprint study. The outcomes from the opportunity assessment also led Room & Board to establish its first Director of Sustainability, and they have continued to enlist Third Partners to support the implementation of strategic initiatives.
