On Saturday, October 26, a team of Third Partners consultants led the company's second annual workshop on "Essential Skills for Sustainability Consulting" on campus at Columbia University in New York.

Open to current students and alumni of Columbia Climate School and partner programs, this year's workshop introduced attendees to tools & strategies that sustainability experts from Third Partners use to drive business outcomes that have a positive environmental impact and are good for the bottom line. These skills are valuable for graduates pursuing any area of corporate sustainability, including consulting, product innovation, operations, and marketing.

This year's workshop explored Third Partners' unique approach to sustainability consulting, which emphasizes complex change management. Participants learned how to leverage tools like:

  • CGP, TCI, BA as a diagnostic tool for sustainability problem solving
  • Double materiality to prioritize, define, and take action on critical sustainability priorities
  • ESG Working Groups as a means of  addressing a client's complex social issues
